The City of Sutherlin, Oregon, operates by Charter, under a Council-Manager form of Government.  Sutherlin has an elected Mayor and six Councilors who guide the City and legislate Ordinances.  The Council President is appointed by Council and in the absence of the Mayor will step in to take over his/her duties.  The city is administered by a City Manager, who is appointed by the City Council.

The City Council meets on the 2nd Monday of each month (and the 4th Monday if needed) at 7:00 P.M. in the Civic Auditorium, 175 E. Everett Avenue, located directly behind City Hall.  Meetings are open to the public and citizens are able to attend in person or via Zoom.  A  Zoom link is available prior to each meeting on the City's website on the calendar page and at the bottom of the Agenda page in the Council Packet.  

If you are interested in speaking to the Council and wish to be placed on the agenda please notify the City Recorder's office no later than the Monday prior to the next scheduled meeting.   Citizens have an opportunity to speak during the 'Citizen's Comment' portion of the Council Meeting.  Speaker forms are available at each meeting or click on this link   to download the fillable form. A three minute time limit applies for all comments.
